B) Present Participle (Ving)
1. ใช้เหมือน adjective ทำหน้าที่ขยายคำนาม เช่น
I am afraid of that barking dog.
That sleeping girl is my niece.
The daily news is boring.
2. ใช้เหมือน adjective clause ขยายคำนามและวางไว้ข้างหลังคำนามที่มันขยาย เช่น
The man coming here this morning is my new teacher.
The beggar sat asking for money.
4. ใช้เมื่อรวมประโยค 2 ประโยคให้เป็นประโยคเดียว และประธานของทั้ง 2 ประโยคเป็นคนเดียวกัน เรามักจะละประธานในประโยคที่เกิดก่อนออกแล้วเปลี่ยนกริยาเป็น Present Participle เช่น
Walking in the dark, I stepped on the pieces of glass.
Crossing the street, the blind man was knocked down by a car.
